The Danish CPR Office handles the Danish Civil Registration System (CPR). For an employer to retrieve data from CPR.dk to their Employee Central, they must subscribe to the system. One of the most common ways is to use CPR on-Client Application. In short, the Customer System sends a request to the Client Application to get data. The Client Application communicates with the CPR Server application using CPR Credentials. The Server receives the response from the CPR Database and pushes back the answer to the CPR Client, and further to the Customer System. With this request the Employee can be subscribed, unsubscribed or current data can be received without changing a subscription status.
A large Danish retail company contacted GP Strategies to request a way of automatically updating employee Master Data in their SuccessFactors solution. They have a large headcount, consisting primarily of Danish employees. An automatic update of Master Data would remove a large workload for HR as they were manually updating employee data.
CPR.DK allows connecting with an API call. A Client Application in the customer landscape is therefore not necessary. Utilising the open-source code provided by CPR.dk to connect to CPR Server, there is not a need for the on-premise part, and we can move the solution directly to the cloud.
Our solution is an integration flow built on the Cloud Integration Platform. This flow verifies whether an employee was hired, rehired, or terminated since the last program run. Based on these events, it is determined whether an employee ought to be subscribed or unsubscribed from the CPR system.
During the process of subscription, the current person and address data are returned and updated to the SuccessFactors system in real-time. Updates are done for the current address. Whenever an address is protected, the data is hidden. This information is also updated to SuccessFactors, and the address is hidden in all data portlets. If required, basic personal data available in CPR is updated.
All actions are monitored with a Data Replication Monitor Tool built-in SuccessFactors, which allows the admin to check which data that has been updated, as well as mail notifications if any technical errors occur.
Requests are sent based on scheduled timer-functionality standards for Cloud Integration Platform, but it is also possible to use our custom-made extension, GP Bifrost to enable requests on-demand and get replies in real-time, extract data with defined parameters as well as an improved test phase during building and changing live interfaces.
With this simple solution, you gain improved data quality whenever data changes. Master data is automatically updated when an employee is hired, rehired, terminated, or on Global Assignment.
